About me

Creative, Confusing and with absolutely no concept of time! Although I do manage to get myself where I need to be with the help of technology, prompts from family members and leaving way too early - just in case!

I have always loved colour and being creative; my favourite colour when I was little was “all the bright colours - the colours of the flowers”. This I remember clearly.

Born and brought up in the apartheid era of South Africa - this is important, as we were segregated from the rest of the world, although all people have always been equal in my eyes - (All people - be they a different shade of colour, have any amount of income, of all educational levels or of any age all have the same starting point in my book of accreditation.) I largely have my parents to thank for this outlook.

Growing up in these conditions led to quite a restricted upbringing, especially as this was pre-social media and widespread internet access. Moving to a different country was quite an eye-opener to different cultures and world views and the move taught me compassion for my countrymen and a gratefulness for the level of education I was lucky enough to receive. I went to an ordinary state school, but the level of education we received cannot be faulted by large and I couldn’t wish for a better place to grow up in - leisure times spent on the beachfront - the weather gloriously sunny.

My mother loved taking photos - I think I must have inherited this love. She also did art and loved dressmaking, she made all her own costumes for roller skating competitions. My father a computer programmer, analytical, clever and able to do just about anything -especially when it came to DIY. I think I ended up being quite a mix of the two.

I am married to a Partner of a global accounting firm with two adult children who are super talented in their own right, but I’ll let them tell their own stories.
